No mages? No problem. On a night where acquiring summoned food was a work of labor, the Dwarec Mercs ventured into the Black Temple sheepless, pigless, turteless, but full of determination. Our first stop of the night was Supremus, and despite his apparent obsession with stalking tanks, we were able to down him on our third attempt, but once again doing that whole three-legged, grossly overweight bat-eared fo...you get the picture.

Once I was pointed in the right direction (thanks Alexxus), we cleared through Shade of Akama's trash like a bull in a china shop, but managed to survive it all without a wipe. After what would be described by Salron as "another 15-20 minute warm-up speech" :), and a bit of tank-assist tweaking, Shade of Akama got blown to smither-fucking-reens by the Dwarec Mercs! Great job, folks! And remember, no Tony-Hawking on Supremus!

Our first Azgalor wasn't exactly what I'd describe as a graceful creature, such as the quick and fluid gazelle, it's willowy form springing across the plains. Ours was more along the lines of a three-legged, grossly overweight bat-eared fox with uncomfortably over-inflamed elephantitis of the testicles attempting to drag itself over the finish line despite almost wheezing itself to death due to the fact that it can't process an amount of oxygen necessary to keep a dung beetle alive. But it was still fun!

Naj'entus, despite the first pull going bad due to the inability to follow instructions that I had just finished relaying no more than 90 seconds earlier, went far better. Once people got the hang of looting spines (and more importantly, throwing them on time), it was just a matter of time before fishlips went face down like a Vipes at a frat party. Great job DM, and congrats on two progression kills in one night!

With all the hubbub about guilds not belonging in Mount Hyjal and Black Temple after 2.4, some of the higher-ups have indicated that there would be some obstacles that 'unworthy' guilds simply wouldn't be able to overcome. One of those obstacles is the eight waves of trash before Kaz'rogal, which were definitely challenging, but I think it was far more challenging dealing with Thrall breaking CC, the nub.

The Dwarec Mercs proved that they belong, adjusting and adapting as we always do. Despite casters exploding all over, we managed to kill Kaz'rogal on our second pull. Skesdrin, blessed be his corpse, promptly died on the pull, ensuring victory for his guildmates. Chalk up another well-deserved victory for the Dwarec Mercs. Three down, two to go!

Luckily for me, one of our guild members is a psychologist; I say this because sometimes I think our guild suffers from multiple personality disorder. The first night we tried Anetheron, we had all sorts of problems, and it wasn't pretty. Next time we come in, and we basically manhandle Anetheron on our first attempt of the night. A truly amazing job by everyone to keep our guild progressing, but...

Someone decided it'd be a good idea to talk to an NPC whose every previous conversation triggerd an event; and not just any kind of event, but waves of pissy undead death. So while we were in the middle of doing loot, we were assraped by undead, and as the screenshot above shows, only one person made the final cut. Kudos to Skum for preserving the moment, even if it was by himself.

An old Turkish proverb says, "An open door invites callers." Well, Blizzard opened the door to Mount Hyjal, and the Dwarec Mercs came a-callin'. Technically, this was a first night kill, since the very first night we were there, we got one shot, and our piece o' shit instance server crashed. On our second night in, aside from giving Miss Winterchill the hot beef injection, we discovered that Tankadin threat is broken. Maybe the increased gold split will cover Hunter therapy sessions for their equally broken morale. Great job, Mercs! Onward, Ysera! :)

5/6 and 3/4. Two kills left until the Dwarec Mercs can venture into Hyjal Summit! Months of hard work and dedication took one step closer to fruition as DM stormed into Serpentshrine Cavern, found Fathom-Lord Karathress and his three girlfriends hiding under his bed, dragged them out, and gave them the inevitable ass-spanking they had coming.

Outstanding work, Mercs! I have no doubt in my mind that Lady Vashj and Kyle (har har) Sunstrider will be gracing these pages soon enough!

Hard work pays off people, and thanks to our members subjecting themselves to Al'ar all week long, it finally paid off. Luckily for us, there is balance in the universe, because what came to follow could hardly be described as hard work.

So after spending early Saturday night in a state of paranoia, i.e. looking left, right, forward, backwards for fucking flame patches, meteors falling out of the sky, and jihadist mobs exploding all over the place, the Dwarec Mercs were simply too overstrung and hopped up on pure adrenaline to call it a night. So we bullied our way through the Solarium, and kicked High Astromancer Solarian's candy ass as a bonus! Seems like we have our own jihadists in the guild as well. :/

Great job, DM! The only things that stand in the way of our putting SSC and TK on farm are Fathom-Lord Karathress, Lady Vashj, and Kael'thas Sunstrider!

The Dwarec Mercs aren't Superstitious, allowing them to reach Higher Ground. But hey, That's What Friends Are For. Ok, I'll stop. Going past our typical beddy-bye raid cutoff time, there was a not-so-typical clean clearing of pre-Leo trash. We started things off with an eye-opening 8% wipe on our very first attempt of the night. That was followed by a teasing 1% wipe, where I was apparently touched by Jesus, allowing me to speak in tongues and inspire our troops to vict...fine, I was ranting and raving like a Vipes out of hair gel. Once we regrouped, the third time was the charm, and Leotheras the Blind was Signed, Sealed, and Delivered. ;) Great job, Mercs!!!

Normally, if I have a 6:30am flight to catch at an airport an hour away, you won't catch me raiding the night before. But I REALLY wanted to end this year on a high note, and due to some great work by our guild, we were able to add Tidewalker to our hit list just in time for the holidays. Thanks Lesanti for tweaking the strat some and helping us get our first Tidewalker kill, and thanks to all of DM for all the hard work, dedication, and self sacrifice its taken to get us this far. 2007 was the beginning of a beautiful thing for our guild, and now that we finally have a pretty diverse and balanced raid roster, I expect great things for us in 2008!

If it wasn't for Dhol and Mispell getting married, I could have posted this update a week or two ago. The nerve! I'm not sure why Blizzard seems to have a childhood game fetish, but it took us mastering Marco Polo (Lurker Below), Dodgeball (Void Reaver), and now Red Rover (Hydross the Unstable). In any case, our dps tore it the fuck up, the tanks did a solid job of keeping adds under control, and we made short work of Hydross. Great job by everyone, looking forward to adding Morogrim Tidewalker to this page very soon!
